Week #10—Rest in God and Recharge Your Spirit (Caring for Self)

Scripture: Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all you who are weary, and I will give you rest.”

Caring for ourselves means embracing the rest that God provides, especially the Sabbath rest that restores our lives. True rest isn’t just a pause from activity—it is the peace, renewal, and refreshment that comes from trusting God completely. When life leaves us tired, burdened, or overwhelmed, God invites us to come to Him and receive His sustaining rest.

Sabbath rest is more than simply taking the seventh day off—it is a rhythm of life, a time to stop striving, trusting God’s provisions, and allowing Him to replenish our bodies, minds, and spirits. In His presence, our perspective is renewed, our hearts are calmed, and we gain the strength to live fully in the days ahead.

Today, pause and embrace God’s rest. Allow His rest to calm your inner turmoil, refresh your heart, and sustain you thru every season.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to enter into Your rest and receive the Sabbath refreshment You offer. Renew my spirit, restore my soul, and sustain me for the days ahead. Amen.
