Week #04—Choose Joy, No Matter the Circumstance (Caring for Self)
Scripture: Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
Caring for ourselves includes tending to our hearts, not just our responsibilities. God invites us to choose joy—not as a denial of hardship, but as a decision to let His presence shape what lives within us. Joy rooted in the Lord is steady, even when circumstances feel uncertain or heavy.
God’s joy is not something we have to create or force. It is a gift we receive when we remain connected to Him. As we turn our hearts toward God, His joy fills the places where anxiety, weariness, and discouragement try to settle. This joy does more than lift our spirits—it strengthens us. The joy of the Lord becomes our strength, giving us the endurance we need to keep moving forward with hope.
Today, allow yourself to receive God’s joy. Let it dwell in you, renew your strength, and shift your perspective. No matter what you face, God’s joy is available—and it is enough for today.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to choose joy today. Fill my heart with Your joy, strengthen me through Your presence, and teach me to rest in You no matter what I face. Amen.
