Week #19--Be a Peacemaker in Every Relationship (Caring for Others)

Scripture: Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Children of God.”

Caring for others calls us to actively pursue peace. Scripture does not treat peace as optional—it is something we must strive for (Hebrews 12:14), pray for (Psalm 122:6), and pursue with intention (Romans 14:19). In a world where conflict is common and division is easy, God calls His people to stand out as peacemakers.

Peacemaking requires effort. As far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18). That means choosing humility over pride, restoration over division, and understanding over being right. It means stepping into tension with a heart that seeks healing, not harm. Too often, we dwell among those who hate peace (Psalm 120:6), but God calls us to be different—to carry His peace within us and into every relationship.

This is the heart of God’s kingdom—righteousness and peace (Romans 14:17). When we pursue peace, we reflect His Spirit, for the fruit of the Spirit is peace (Galatians 5:22). A life of peacemaking produces a harvest of righteousness (James 3:18) and invites the presence of the God of love and peace to dwell with us (2 Corinthians 13:11).

Today, choose to be a peacemaker. Strive for it, pray for it, and pursue it in every interaction. As you do, you will not only care for others—you will reflect the very heart of God and be called His child.

Prayer:
Lord, make me a peacemaker. Help me to strive for peace, pursue understanding, and reflect Your heart in every relationship. Let Your peace live within me and flow through me. Amen.
