Week #06—Give Thanks in Every Moment (Caring for Self)
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Caring for ourselves includes nurturing a heart of gratitude—one that recognizes God’s presence in every season. A thankful spirit does not ignore life’s challenges; instead, it transforms how we experience them. When we choose this reframed gratitude, our focus shifts from what is missing to what God is already providing.
This kind of thankfulness softens our hearts and steadies our minds. It reminds us that even in difficult moments, God has not lost control and is actively at work. As we practice reframed gratitude, our perspective begins to change—stress loosens its grip, joy becomes more tangible, and peace grows deeper within us.
Today, pause and give thanks, even for the small and ordinary moments surrounded by chaos. Let an attitude of gratitude shape how you see your life and care for your soul. When thankfulness becomes a habit, it transforms not only our perspective, but also our daily experiences.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to give thanks in every moment. Help me cultivate a grateful heart that brings peace, joy, and renewed strength to my life. Amen.
